Articulate Storyline eLearning Course

Problem: Technicians on the Protector Plus training path are up for a recertification and need a test to show they are up to date on their knowledge to properly service Protector Plus series Generac generators.

Business provided information: I receive a PowerPoint from my SME, a trainer in Eagle, with test questions associated with modules pre-selected by the SME. I have been asked to review these questions and provide my input.

Solution: I go through the questions, edit for grammar and adjust phrasing to provide clarity in the questions to ensure the questions are phrased in a manner that elicits the proper information from the learner. I also work with my SME to create a never been done before troubleshooting module to allow the learner to be immersed in a testing situation that is as close to real world as possible within the eLearning mode.

Evaluation: This course has been given 5 starts within Generac University. The feedback from the surveys has been overwhelming positive. My next steps would include a deep-dive into the survey data to see what can be done for improvement.

Articulate Storyline eLearning Course 

Problem: Customers would like to integrate their generators with a PWRcell system. Technicians have either PWRcell training or generator training, but typically don't have any training that combines the two together. 

 

Solution: Working with my SME on the PWRcell side of the business, we mapped out the flow of the course to ensure all information needed would be included before diving into the details. Multiple rounds of review were included. I ensured the project stayed on track with project management skills including timelines, due dates and prioritization. There were roadblocks in course creation, including a change in SME and a new SME with a very busy schedule but with proper project management the course came out on time and has received great feedback.

 

Evaluation: This course has a tracker that includes feedback that should be reviewed by the SME for continual improvement. My next steps for this course would be to take a deep dive into the data to see where improvements can be made.

Programs: This project utilized lots of Adobe Illustrator drawings that had to be created from scratch.

Problem: When working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), our team of instructional designers have found we have to aide our SMEs to learn what their role entails, how to use Articulate Review360, and how to provide quality feedback. This takes a lot of time at the start of each project, and we teach the same things to each SME. 

 

Solution: To save time and still guide our new SMEs, our team decided to create a course that covers the basics of what their role entails. This helps to ensure our project runs in a timely manner and everyone knows from the beginning what the expectations are.

Program:  This project is completed in Articulate Storyline and it was found job aides would help the learners to be successful. Added job aides will guide the learner through a hands-on practice after course completion.
